What’s happening at the college this December?

To get you into the festive spirit, the student association has organised a host of events – from a Christmas fayre to a Santa dash to a film afternoon.

This season, we’ll be raising funds for Cash for Kids, a charity which aims to help those children less fortunate than us to enjoy this time of year. Take a look on what’s on offer below.

But whatever you do, don’t forget to wear your Christmas jumper on Thursday 11th December!

Anniesland and Langside

The celebrations begin on Tuesday 9 December at Langside Campus, where the Canteen will transform into a lively Festive Market from 10am until 2pm.

On Wednesday 10 December, the festive spirit continues at Anniesland Campus. From 10am to 2pm, the main corridor will host another vibrant Festive Market this time with the added fun of a Silent Disco.

Whether you’re shopping, dancing or doing both, it’s a great opportunity to get involved.

Participants at last year’s Santa dash!

Santa dash

The fitness students at Cardonald campus are organising a Santa dash on Thursday the 11th of December at Pollok Park. This is open to students at all campuses.

There is a 5k and a 2k option for everyone. Students can walk, jog or run either route. By doing so, you’ll be raising money for Clyde 1’s Cash for Kids so any donations on the day are welcome but needed to take part.

If you’re interested as part of your class group please speak to your lecturer about it or contact the student association.

Cardonald Christmas Party

Straight after the dash the celebrations move to Cardonald Campus, where the Student Space will host a Christmas Celebration featuring festive stalls, a 360° interactive camera experience and a visit from a very special guest.

It also coincides with Christmas Jumper Day, so come along dressed in your most festive knitwear.

Festive film screening at Langside

The week rounds off on Friday 12 December with Film Friday: Christmas Edition at Langside Campus where students can enjoy a cosy festive film to end the week on a relaxed, feel-good note.

Elf is the chosen film on Friday 12th.

Throughout the week, collection buckets will be available at every event, giving everyone the chance to contribute.

Whether you’re shopping, running, dancing or simply stopping by, every donation helps Cash for Kids continue their amazing work.

Donate here, if you can, to the Glasgow Clyde College Christmas fundraiser for Cash for Kids.
