Hey folks, Student Vice President Shory here giving you a heads up on a very underrated service at Cardonald campus…
So, if you didn’t know students and staff at Glasgow Clyde College have access to a full-on tech support service, thanks to a student-led PC clinic run by HND Computing students.
You’ll find this is available every Thursday and Friday during lunchtime and the clinic will aid you with pretty much any and all problems you might have.
Essentially, they’ll diagnose any faults you’re dealing with and run troubleshooting so they can offer top tier consultation for your tech and even assist in helping you solve your issue, they also provide consultation and can assist with applying upgrades!
The service is designed to support anyone within the college community who needs a hand with their devices.

The clinic is entirely run by students, giving them the opportunity to apply their technical knowledge in a real-world scenario. This hands-on experience allows them to develop their practical skills while interacting directly with you, preparing them for future roles in the tech industry.
The service is open to all members of the college, even staff, whether they are experiencing issues with a PC, phone, or other devices. However, do be aware you are required to sign a waiver before any work is carried out, acknowledging and accepting the terms of allowing the students to handle your equipment.
While the clinic is student-led, it is carefully overseen by experienced staff members George Howie and Roy Wilson, ensuring that all work is done safely and professionally so don’t worry, you’re in safe hands.
If I can add, I find this delightful initiative highlights the college’s commitment to practical learning, giving students valuable industry experience while providing a useful and convenient service to the wider college community which is always awesome to see.
If you’re a tech head like me you’ll know that the demand for digital support continues to grow, so the PC clinic stands out as a simple but effective service and the best part is its run by students, for the benefit of everyone on campus.
