Get ready for Glasgows youth film festival 2025, a vibrant weekend celebrating cinema, crafted by the next generation. Packed with must watch moments and behind the scenes excitement.
From Friday 26 to 28 September, Glasgow film theatre becomes a hotspot for the youth at the Glasgow youth film festival, one of Europe’s most youth led showcases. Hand picked by young programmers (ages 15-18), the line up spans Scottish premieres, international favourites, and modern classics. It is not just a festival, it’s a masterclass in programming, mentoring, and networking complete with creative events for aspiring film pros.
Bongo’s bingo lights up SWG3
Prepare yourself for a bingo revolution at SWG3 this weekend. On Friday 5th September at 19:00 and 6th of September 12pm and 18:00. Bongo’s bingo will turn traditional bingo upside down with rave intervals, awkward dance offs, wacky prizes like Henry hoovers and giant pink unicorns, and audience participation galore. It has been called “a wild night of pure nostalgia” so grab your tickets fast, because they are selling out!
Historic Treasures Unlocked for Glasgow’s Doors Open Festival
Glasgow is set to throw open its doors to the public this month as the Doors Open Days Festival returns on 18-21st September.
More than 150 landmarks welcome visitors for free, from the newly restored Citizens Theatre to Govan hill Baths.
Organisers say this year’s theme, “Glasgow: The Visionary City”, will showcase the city’s rich heritage with tours, performances, and workshops.
The festival also forms part of the city’s Glasgow 850 anniversary celebrations, expected to draw thousands of victors.
Mean City Fest Strikes a Chord for Glasgow’s Homeless
Glasgow’s music scene is rallying to support the city’s most vulnerable this weekend at Mean City Fest.
The three-day event at The Classic Grand, running 19th-21st September, will raise vital funds for Homeless Project Scotland.
Punk legends Zounds and Gimp Fist headline a packed lineup, with DJs and a Punk Rock Pub Quiz closing the festival on Sunday.
Every penny raised will go directly towards food and shelter projects.
Organisers say they hope the city’s passion for music can spark a real change.
