“Summer isn’t over yet,” (as her Midnight Sun lyrics tell us) according to pop sensation Zara Larsson.
And thanks to her fans listening to her bright and sunny bangers in the winter, the 28-year-old has now become the first ever Swedish artist to amass over 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Zara surpassed Swedish group ABBA’s 45.9 million peak monthly listeners with ease during her breakout, but it took over a decade to get here.
Back in 2015-16, the popstar reached global recognition, amassing several hits from her sophomore album, ‘So Good.’
After a few years slightly out of the mainstream, she released the title track for her fifth album, ‘Midnight Sun’ in the second half of 2025. Due to the strong vocals showcased on the single and general aesthetics, she started trending again.

“my brother chose to play midnight sun in the car today.. the zara larsson propaganda is working” – @xxmenzz on X.
Along with ‘Midnight Sun’ trending and her decade-old hit ‘Lush Life’ making it in the top 10 in the Official Singles Chart and Spotify Global, Zara hopped onto a remix of ‘Stateside’ by PinkPantheress.
Although it was already trending, her impressive vocals and glittery summer sounds transformed the song into a huge hit. Only four days ago, the perfect pair released a video for the remix, generating six million views so far.
With her three current hits under her belt, the singer has well deserved her flowers and all 50 million and more listeners.
Fans took to social media to share their enthusiasm:
“Omg I used to pray for times like these NOT ANYMORE that grammy is secured” – @lifehoeson on X.
“YAY FINALLY GETTING THE RECOGNITION SHE DESERVES!!!” – @maori238 on X.

Loved her since 2017! Good to see her charting again
She’s been smashing it this year for sure! Even more so now that Stateside remix is 12th and Midnight Sun is 29th on the UK Official Singles Chart.
