Liverpool’s Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett will be stepping into the Octagon this Saturday against his toughest challenge to date when he faces lightweight veteran Justin ‘the Highlight’ Gaethje.
This fight is for the Interim Lightweight Championship and will commence at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas Nevada, the official home of UFC fight fans.
This fight was announced by Dana White live during the NFL Thanksgiving game back in November. And because Ilja Topuria is currently on a hiatus due to personal issues this fight will take place instead.
Both Paddy and Justin have both been without a fight since last year with Justin’s last being on the UFC 313 Pereira vs Ankalaev card when he faced Rafael Fiziev and he won by unanimous decision and earned fight of the night.
Paddy’s last fight was on the UFC 314 Volkanovski vs lopes card when he went up against ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler who he beat by KO/TKO in the 3rd round.
Since Paddy has joined the UFC in 2021 he has beaten every single opponent with his biggest win beside Chandler was Tony Ferguson in 2023 at UFC 296 and he looks forward to stepping into the octagon with one of his favourite fighters and during a press conference Paddy said “i expect a war obviously he is one of my favourite fighters but I don’t think it will happen”
Justin has stated “if I get knocked out again I am done” so he will be stepping into the cage on Saturday night with everything to lose and a ton of pressure against the game paddy but he still has a lot of confidence and a ton more experience when the fight gets ugly.
Fanduel has the odds at Justin Gaethje +186 underdog and Paddy Pimblett –245 favourite.
