Everyone is scrambling to see the fathers of metal preform as they have announced one last show to close their legendary career. For the first time in over 20 years the original members of Ozzy Osborne, Geezer Butler, Toni Iommi and Bill Ward will perform together supported by a star studded lineup of bands who exist because of sabbaths innovation.

This is not just a reunion gig to celebrate the legacy of black sabbath it’s a performance to show what their music has evolved into with bands and artists such as Pantera, Gojira, Slayer and mastodon with a lot of special appearances from the likes of Pappa V of Ghost, Black label society’s Zakk Wylde, David Draiman of Disturbed and Wolfgang Van Halen showing the vast range of subgenres that have emerged from sabbaths influence.
Formed in working class Birmingham in the late 1960s it as their dark ominous sound and lyrics heavily captured by Toni Iommi’s truly unique guitar style which led to simple but extremely effective riffs such as “the wizard” and the eponymous song “black sabbath” both from their first album which decades later is set as the covenant that the genre is based on.
Ozzy came out and said that its his last ever performance due to health issues as he has suffered Parkinson’s for a while now. Osborne stated, “It’s my time to go back to the beginning… time for me to give back to the place I was born, Birmingham is the home of metal, Birmingham forever.” Coming full circle both himself and fans get one chance to return to the birthplace of metal with all proceedings going to Parkinson’s charities to show the commitment to their home city.
This is Black Sabbath.
All happening July 5th.

Black Sabbath are home to celebrate the birth of METAL.
